I was testing out a new CGI pipeline, and I tought about remodeling one of my favorite place in Rome.
Back then it was called "Giardino delle Coltivazioni", meaning the garden used for the propagation, cultivation and conservation of plants used in the representative gardens of Villa Borghese. For the past 20 years, however, this late 16th-century hemicycle has hidden behind its walls nothing but weeds.
I find it ironic that this small piece of land, when passed into the hands of our administration, turned from cultivation soil to unaccessible/gated/(and yet)public-owned space.
I mainly focused on the exterior, but I'd love in the future to think of ways to virtually repopulate the garden hidden behind these walls.
Modelled in Blender and set/animated/rendered in UE5. All vegetation and textures were taken from Quixel. Sculptures were taken from Sketchfab. Thanks also to Street View, as I was too lazy to get there and take reference photos, and to my 2GB GTX 1050 that hasn't failed me yet.
